“You may hear a voice inside. And if that voice starts to whisper, to follow the farthest star…..that voice inside you is who you are.”- Disney Moana
A very big hello to readers of Gypsyescapade. Some of you know me as little gypsy traveller. I am glad to be officially part of the blog. My mom says a whole lot of things about Blogging. And I say, “All that is fine, but I think I want to be a blogger to tell stories that one can enjoy reading, come straight from my heart, buck me up and make me famous.”
What do you think? Have I got it right? Please share your feedback.
Like, share, comment my first photo story “Uniquely Singapore”. I would be glad if kids in the family send me their feedbacks too.
My Singapore vacation was thanks to the Year-end festive holidays & my mom being invited as a Press Member for ITB Asia 2017. Since we have family and friends there, it was just the perfect holiday and opportunity for me to discover.
What to Do when in Singapore?
Here are the places I recommend for young escapades @Uniquely Singapore.
Learnt walking is fun too….while dad kept saying “Little by little …one walks far”. I started to enjoy walking as I learnt to explore Singapore so comfortably on foot and trains. Great Roads, fantastic #SMRTsocial Train & Bus services.
When you arrive in Singapore, don’t forget to buy #SMRTcards for yourself, the best way to explore and enjoy the city. Of course the fastest and most economical way to move around the city!
There are drawings done by various little artists from different schools around the city. Feels so good to see your names up on the wall.
My dad says “Find your tribe- (family & friends) wherever they are and love them hard….” So that’s what I did. Spend few days with my loved ones.
Must say “holidays are best enjoyed with your own tribe!!!” (When selecting a family holiday destination, try and convince your parents for place that’s a nest to family & friends).
Must recommended #Singaporebotanicgardens.
There is so much to see in this garden: amazing flora and fauna of trees, flowers and bushes, open air restaurant, germination of plants, so well displayed and a beautiful #NationalOrchidGarden.
Best tips- wear comfortable shoes as it’s a long walk especially to orchid garden about 2.6 kms to and fro from the main entrance.
My dad says, “I am little Miss Shopaholic”. And I tell him- Dad “you must work hard, so I can shop harder.”
Recommended best for shopping, #orchardroad #chinatownsg
Bugis –for gifts & souvenirs, Bedok mall.
Brands that I recommend
Jewellery

Shoes

Sunnies @Singapore random markets.
At the Singapore ‘Night Safari’, the Tram Ride through the jungle and the famous “Creatures of the Night” show brought me so close to the animal kingdom, it was an experience. Must say learnt how it feels to be scared, what hunger means, why should we end cruelty against animals and most important “World indeed is a small jungle”.
Must Do: Singapore Night Safari.
There are many more attractions like River safari, Singapore Zoo, Jurong Bird Park. One can spend 1-2 days to enjoy all attractions.

We spend this years’ Diwali in Singapore and I was so thrilled to celebrate it with my adorable, younger cousin brother. Post our Diwali Puja (prayers), we took sets of sparkles down to the area in the condominium to light them along with a few other Indian families. It was fun, different and less noisy compared to my own country- India but enjoyed the moments with my family.
Must share this with you, post the sparkle fun was over, My aunt told me that all of us need to clean up the place that we had messed up and put the same in garbage bags.
I followed and did that, it was such a good feeling. Once home, I shared my thought with my dad on how nice it would be if all of us did the same in our own country, post festivities and not leave it to the community helpers.
Dad was glad and said someone has to make a first move. Let’s pledge as a family that we would do that wherever we are and whichever festivity we are celebrating.
We have decided to do our bit. What about You? Swaach Bharat Sundar Bharat!
Must do #Singapore flyer; if you love heights and views from the top.
Nights views are more beautiful especially when the city is all lit up.

#sentosa an amazing amusement park with great offerings to keep kids busy the whole day. There is an Animal & Bird Park, 4-D Rides & experiences, eateries and a cable car ride to explore the island and keep you thrilled.
Though I have been to many Madame Tussauds around the world, I still can’t get enough of it. You find something different and unique in each one of them.
Enjoyed the one in Singapore completely!
#seaaquariumsingapore was astonishing. Especially the underwater effect. There were activities on conservations of oceans going on. I actively participated and made dad proud when I knew most of the answers to the quiz questions as compared to the mixed community crowd there. There were 4 levels and I won all 4. The display of marine life with this rewarding quiz made it a worthy experience.
The highlights to the park is the very own “aamchi kidzania”, popular Universal Studios. Both were simply hair raising. The highlight of the place was Wings of Time. An amazing laser light and dancing waters show around a beautiful story.
Must watch Wings of Time -sentosa
